Begin with fixed surfaces
In every room, start with ceiling, walls, floor, windows, and doors. These shared categories make room-to-room coverage consistent.
Give wet rooms extra attention
In kitchens and bathrooms, include counters, cabinets, sinks, taps, seals, visible plumbing, appliances, tile, and ventilation. Photograph visible moisture or discoloration without diagnosing it.
Record built-ins and controls
Capture closets, shelves, blinds, switches, outlets, thermostats, alarms, and fixtures that belong to the property. Note whether a visible condition is cosmetic or affects operation only when you tested it.
Add the spaces your home actually has
Include balconies, laundry areas, storage, parking, an office, den, sunroom, or other spaces covered by your agreement. A custom room is more useful than forcing evidence into the wrong label.
