Start with the room itself
In every room, start with the ceiling, walls, floor, windows, and doors. Checking the same areas helps you cover every room.
Give kitchens and bathrooms extra attention
In kitchens and bathrooms, include counters, cabinets, sinks, taps, seals, visible plumbing, appliances, tile, and ventilation. Photograph visible moisture or discoloration without guessing the cause.
Check built-in features and controls
Capture closets, shelves, blinds, switches, outlets, thermostats, alarms, and fixtures that belong to the property. Note whether a visible condition is cosmetic or affects operation only when you tested it.
Add the spaces your home actually has
Include balconies, laundry areas, storage, parking, an office, den, sunroom, or other spaces covered by your agreement. A custom room is better than putting photos under the wrong room name.
